The market stall grows a room. Welsh grain, Severn fish, pudding that changes. We walked the fit-out on Tuesday.

Hafod’s operators have run a stall in Newport Market for 18 months. The Friars Walk room is 28 covers, an open pass, and a window onto the Usk. They will not take bookings for a fortnight. That is either confidence or a queue-management plan. We will eat in the second week and file a proper review.
