Routine scans over eight weeks in four of seven health boards

Four boards — Betsi Cadwaladr, Hywel Dda, Swansea Bay and Aneurin Bevan — now report median routine MRI/CT waits above eight weeks. Cwm Taf, Cardiff & Vale and Powys are under. Urgent and cancer pathways are within target in six of seven boards; Betsi remains the outlier on that measure too.

The health minister’s covering note blames parts delays on two scanner types and a radiographer vacancy rate of 11%. A mobile unit is promised for North Wales from 15 September. Aneurin Bevan’s Grange site is already on Cover Wales’s Gwent file: 14 weeks in July, a mobile from 8 September.
