Loafers on St Helen’s Road: sourdough, usually gone by 11 on Saturday

A baker, a queue, a paper bag. Saturday is worse. If you wanted cockles as well, the market is a walk.

A bakery counter and paper bags

Loafers — yes, they leaned into the name — opened on St Helen’s Road in June. Sourdough, a bun with cheese, and they are sold out of the loaf by 11 most Saturdays. Take a number. It is not a ‘sourdough concept’. It is a baker who used to do mornings in the market.

If you miss it, Swansea Market still has the pie stall before 11 and the cockles that tell you the hall is a market. Two good things in one morning is allowed.
