ONS police-recorded crime for Wales, year to March 2026: shoplifting up 18%. Violence against the person down 2%. Robbery essentially flat. Residential burglary down. That is a till problem, a retail radio, and a magistrates’ list — Chepstow’s is Monday — not a collapse of every street.

Knife-enabled offences are recorded. Charges will be filed when they are brought. The public court list is the source.
